And so it begins....
A little background.....May 30, 2014, was my last day of teaching. My first day was shortly after I graduated from Ashland College (today it is called Ashland University) in 1976. I had a degree in Physical and Health Education, but Phys Ed jobs were hard to find. At this time Special Education was wide open. I went on an interview and receive my first job at Mt Vernon Developmental Center. I ended up loving teaching Special Ed and went on to take classes in Special Ed. In 1979, got married and moved to Coldwater, MI and finished my masters at Eastern Michigan University in Special Education. 1981 was a busy year, my husband and I got laid off due to district cut backs, but both received a job at Blossomland Learning Center in Berrien Springs, MI. The night after the interview my son decided that was the day he was to be born. We moved bought a house and went back to work. Twenty months later we were blessed with a daughter. (This time I was lucky to be able to stay at home for a couple of years)....Twenty months passed and our 2nd daughter was born. Fast forward.......1993 moved to Cincinnati and worked for 3 years at Breyer School...which was part of Hamilton County MRDD. 1996 I began teaching for Princeton City Schools. First as an Inclusion teacher for K-1 students and then Physical Education at Evendale Elementary School. Fast forward to today... Moved back home to Long Beach Island, NJ...enjoying retirement and here is how it is going...
